Character: Find Me

The scene I chose was from the book Find Me. Find Me is about a girl named Wick. ""Find Me" Theses are the words written on Tessa Waye's diary. The diary ends up with Wick. But Tessa's just been found... dead. Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job but little interest. Until her sister, Lily is the next target. Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare. But she's going to find this killer no matter what. Because it just got personal."(Bernard cover) I chose this scene because it shows the conflict that the main character, Wick goes through.

"Why do you care? Tessa Waye didn't know you existed." My eyes fly open, meet his. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I just laid a mess at his feet. How was he supposed to react? With reassurance? With confidence? That's exactly what I wanted. I just didn't realize until this minute. But I'm not looking for a hero. There's no such thing. I'm just looking for some help. "We were friends... once."
"There's more to this. What aren't you telling me?"
I don't-suddenly can't- answer.
Griff shakes his head. "Yeah, I don't do the work if I don't know the deal."
"It's Lily." I push my feet hard against the ground so I don't sway. "Lily's his next target. I need help getting to the guy."(Bernard 167-168)

I chose this scene because it shows desire conflict. Wick wants to save Lily but she knows she can't save Lily by herself that's why she's turns to Griff for help. This also shows Wick's character traits.  It shows that she doesn't exactly know how to ask for help. It also shows that she doesn't believe in heroes. This shows Wick backing down and letting herself ask for help for the first time in the book.

Specificity: Doomed

I just finished Doomed and I found it really interesting because it showed what would happen if a worm were to destroy the grid. No electricity, no phone service, and the point of no return. Join Pandora, Theo, and Eli as they play the game Pandora's Box to save the world. Pandora's Box was a game created by Pandora's long lost father in hopes of creating a better world. On Pandora's seventeenth birthday she gets an email from her father with a link to a blog that her dad created talking about how they'd used to be so close. Within the blog are twelve pictures of her past in which Pandora downloads, unknowingly she unleashes the worm as well. Now it's up to her to play the game and save the world. Could her past really be the key to saving the world?

My favorite scene from Doomed is where Pandora wants to give up but Theo and Eli keep telling her to keep going and to have hope. I like the fact that Theo and Eli are there for her and how they risk their lives to help he save the world where others wouldn't have done the same. I also like how Tracy Deebs based it off the Greek story of Pandora's Box and how in the end when you feel like you want to give up you just have to keep going and have hope.
